Mr. Prakash Luitel

Co-Founder & Executive Director

Mr. Prakash Luitel manages operations, strategic communication and multimedia production at Bimba Nepal. He is a seasoned media and communications professional with over 20 years of experience in strategic communications, Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC), knowledge management, multimedia production, and journalism. Holding a Master’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication, he has built a distinguished career working with government agencies, development partners, national and international NGOs, and media organizations. He has worked full-time with Search for Common Ground, UNFPA, Winrock International, and Iris Group International, and has provided consulting services to the Asian Development Bank (ADB), BBC Media Action, International Alert, Prevention Collaborative, WFP, and IDS Nepal.

His expertise includes communication strategy development, SBCC programming, knowledge management, social media management, media outreach, digital communication, IEC material development, advocacy campaigns, and capacity building in communications and journalism. Throughout his career, he has designed and implemented communication strategies and behavior change initiatives across diverse thematic areas, including WASH, governance, gender equality, disability and social inclusion, conflict transformation, youth engagement, biodiversity conservation, and community development.

Fluent in Nepali and English, with a working understanding of several regional languages spoken in Nepal, Mr. Luitel engages effectively with diverse audiences and stakeholders. He possesses strong internal and external communication skills and is adept at producing high-quality multimedia and communication products.

Mr. Niresh Chapagain

Director - Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL)

Mr. Niresh Chapagain leads MERL and project management portfolio at Bimba Nepal. He is a highly accomplished and results-oriented development professional with over 20 years of experience in international development, specializing in Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL), evidence-based programme support, adaptive learning, systems strengthening, research, project design, and capacity building. Mr. Chapagain has a proven expertise in strengthening governance, social accountability, and community-police partnerships, with a strong focus on countering gender-based violence, media, security, justice, and peacebuilding. He is adept at designing and leading complex surveys, conducting rigorous evaluations, and developing impactful project proposals. Mr. Chapagain is a certified instructor in Participatory Action Research with a track record of training over 650 individuals across diverse sectors. He has worked at prominent international development organizations including Search for Common Ground, International Alert and DFID with providing consulting services to various national and international governmental organizations. His expertise includes MERL strategies and frameworks development for organizations and projects; Outcome Harvesting Methodology; Designing and implementation of project evaluation and survey; developing Community Scorecard for strengthening governance and social accountability; data management and statistical analysis using SPSS, Statista, MS Excel, and CSPro; qualitative data analysis using NVivo/Atlas.ti.; GIS for visualizing context and project attributions using ArcView, ArcGIS, and ArcInfo; and GIS as a planning and monitoring tool.

Ms. Astha Karki

GEDSI Specialist

Ms. Astha Karki is a seasoned evaluator and GEDSI specialist with over a decade of experience integrating gender equality and social inclusion into development programs. She has led numerous mixed-methods evaluations and assessments for organizations such as Plan International, Oxfam, Swisscontact, and IFC–World Bank. Her work includes designing and leading evaluations of gender-responsive safety initiatives, political economy analyses, and participatory research that amplify the voices of women, youth, and marginalized groups. She is adept at developing inclusive frameworks, gathering both qualitative and quantitative evidence, and translating findings into actionable recommendations for policy and programming. Ms. Karki’s background spans climate change, DRR, governance, and rights-based initiatives, with a consistent focus on addressing barriers faced by vulnerable populations, including survivors of SGBV. She holds a Master’s in Environmental Science and is recognized for her ability to integrate GEDSI principles into evaluation designs that strengthen accountability, equity, and impact across diverse development and humanitarian projects.

Ms. Preety Swar

Program Coordinator

Ms. Preety Swar is an experienced development professional with over 12 years of experience in program coordination, multimedia production, and research. Her skills include creative media production, survey methodologies, and data collection, with a strong background in supervising survey enumerators. Ms. Swar is proficient in communication, team coordination, and documentation, with fluency in multiple regional languages. Her passion includes GEDSI mainstreaming, research, and evidence-based program production.
